Dining Out Program
Our Seniors Dining Out luncheon program has been operating since 1999. This program encourages seniors to socialize while enjoying a hot home cooked meal and a variety of local entertainment. We strive to combat the all-to-frequent issue of isolation and loneliness, while supporting healthy nutrition and independence.
The Wheels to Meals luncheon program is held every Tuesday between September and June. A three-course meal is prepared on site by our cook Debbie and by the way clients concure that she makes the best buicuits in the world.
The cost is currenty $7.50 per meal. We keep the cost down by conducting fundraisers throughout the year with our primary fundraiser being the annual spring Bikeathon event. The doors open at 11 am and the program concludes at 12:45.

Lieutenant Governor Graydon Nicholas and Fredericton’s Senior Ambassador Dorothy Lockhart pose as Wheels to Meals client Jack Ker client looks on.
Prior to the meal His Honour spoke from his heart, sharing many stories including one about his early school years. Following his talk Her Honour presented an eloquent blessing of the meal. When lunch was over they mingled, chatting with clients at each and every table.Toe-tapping entertainment was provided by The River Valley Fiddlers. Ruth Ker, one of our regular clients, graced the floor with her step dancing moves.
It takes approximately thirty dedicated volunteers to run this program smoothly. On site we have kitchen staff, servers, hall prep volunteers, clean-up volunteers and then there are the drivers who pick up clients and after the meal return them safely to their homes.
Transportation to the Wheels to Meals luncheon is available for those who need it.
